Activities

LATCH sees its activities programme of social events as an important part of it's support service. The activities help to get people out of the house, meeting others and act as a healthy distraction from pressing daily problems. We will continue to monitor demand so that we can maintain a healthy and diverse programme of events which meet client's needs.

Since November 2004 LATCH has had a full calendar of social events. We seem to have two activities in the year that have become mandatory, the Christmas Party and Scarborough. The Christmas event was very successful this year, 2005, with lots of fabnatstic presents generourosly donated for children of our tenants

For some reason we seem to be lucky when it comes to decent weather at the seaside. This year, 2005, was no exception. We managed to avoid heavy traffic and arrived in Scarborough in good time to catch a speedboat ride and visit to the pub. All in all a decent afternoon but there are calls for another coastal destination so we may be more adventurous next year and try Whitby.

The rest of the year's activities included bowling, numerous walks to Hebden Bridge, Pateley Bridge and Bolton Abbey, a barbecue at No. 1 Project and football in the park.
