LATCH is a Collective. What does this mean?We refer to LATCH as a 'collective' because there is no manager or 'boss'. All 6 members of staff share an equal responsibility in the day to day running of LATCH and it's work. We want people to recognise the value of working as a management team whereby skills, responsibility and decision-making is shared between us. This means that we have to be a strong team, willing to support each other, as well as being able to resolve our differences without a major fallout. When the time comes for us to recruit a new member of staff, we try to make sure that all possible new staff members share our preference for 'collective working'. Working as a collective is one of the things that makes us different to an ordinary supported housing project or housing association. ![]() LATCH Management CommitteeTo make sure we are managing LATCH's finances properly and within the law, we need to have a management committee. These are made up of 10 - 12 members who have a range of expertise in housing, community work, law, social work and manual trades. The committee meets once every 2 months to discuss LATCH. There are also places on the committee for 2 tenants and 2 volunteer representatives. If you would like to know more about this or would be interested to attend a meeting, you can discuss this with any member of staff. |
