About LATCH

What We Do

LATCH is a voluntary sector organisation based in Leeds 7 providing housing and support to people at risk of homelessness or in housing need.  We contribute to the regeneration of the communities in which we work by bringing derelict and disused properties back into use as social housing. Our floating support team works with individuals and families providing packages of support on a wide range of tenancy related issues.

How We Work

Central to LATCH's work is the belief that the issues of homelessness and disempowerment are closely linked.  As a self-help organisation, we believe in enabling people to do things for themselves. This includes working with us on their own property and a willingness to address any other problems which may put the person's tenancy at risk.

With support and the right sort of help to develop skills and abilities, we believe that people can gain greater confidence and an increased sense of control over the difficulties in their lives.

Our style of working is informal and friendly yet professional. Building trust with service users is important to us so that people feel we are accessible and amenable to helping with any problems they might have.

Aims and Objectives
